Doctors are very good and clear. Diagnosis is very good. Discharge process is not complicated.Nursing is cooperative. Communication from outside the hospital is not proper.
On World Blood Donor Day, Specialist Hospital, organized a blood donation camp in association with Sri Manyata Voluntary Blood Centre. One-hundred doctors and nurses from Specialist Hospital donated blood to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and address the shortfall in the availability of blood in the country.
India continues to face a significant shortage in the availability of blood supply. Approximately 1.2 crore units of blood are required annually in India, while only one crore units are collected.
CEO, Specialist Hospital, said, “As healthcare professionals, we see the life-saving impact of blood donation daily. Shortage of blood particularly impacts women and children. India has a huge requirement of around five crore units of blood for treatment and the supply demand gap is almost half. By participating in blood donation drives, we fulfill our commitment to saving lives and inspire others to join this humanitarian cause.”
More than 150 people participated in Health Checkup Camp including local villagers & students. In this Camp, diagnosis, BMI checkup, blood pressure, body fat, ECG, blood checkup, blood cholesterol checkup, Dental checkup, renal function test, pulse checkup etc. was carried out along with diet advice, iron deficiency consultation, Ayurvedic consultation. This health checkup camp was conducted & supervised along with other doctors & staff.
Poster presentation competition & Model making competition on various diseases & disorders was also conducted on this event. More than 30 students participated for this competition. The first prize was secured by Shweta Khandagale and team for their poster on Tuberculosis. Ankita Bade & team won the second prize for poster on Anesthesia whereas third place was secured by Rutuja Patil & team for a poster on Arthritis. For Model making competition, Priyanka Jadhav & her team won the first prize for their model of Swine Flu. All teaching and non teaching staff made this event successful.
